I'm not normally a fan of adverts but I thought this one for the BBC's medieval season was quite good:

The Stephen Fry show last night was excellent.

Wow--as a former has-been never-was medievalist who likes animation and weird acoustic music, I'd love to see a higher-quality version of that. And the series that it is advertising.
So--is it a series, or a bunch of individual shows under one theme? And did S. Fry do just one, or all?

Bunch, and just one.
Generally I hate covers, but I love weird covers!

OK--well, I hope (against hope) that BBC America will eventually show them.

Same here! :)

LOL, so that's what it was, I was listening to the 'original' clip, and was thinking, "I know this, what is it ... ?"
It's odd how you know you know something, but until you listen to the original, you can't place it.

Well, I definitely wouldn't suggest that you look on UK Nova (http://www.uknova.com/). <cough>
...and don't look under "MEDIEVAL SEASON - Stephen Fry and The Machine That Made Us" (http://www.uknova.com/wsgi/torrent/view/58510) (this link will only work if you're logged in).

OK, I'll be sure not to do those things. :)

Can you get the BBC iplayer in the States?

No, it shouldn't work in the USA, on indeed anywhere outside of the UK. I think it uses the IP address range to geolocate the user, which although not 100% infallible, is a fairly reliable way of locating users.

I found that out the hard way--was looking forward to watching something, but then got the "sorry, you're a funny foreigner" message.

iPlayer works for me, but not if it is an article linked to from elsewhere on the BBC site.
'Tis very strange as I am sat in an office in sunny (ha!) Hampshire!!!
