Now we just need a review of The Second Man.
It is simpler than it looks.

Just watched Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse and it may well be my favourite rendition of Spiderman ever. And I include the 90s cartoon there as well as all the films.

I think that's the nature of Neil Armstrong, which is presumably why he got the job.

Yeah, I had a wee google about this at the weekend and it does seem Ryan Gosling actually did a pretty accurate job.  Accuracy does not necessarily make a scintillating film.

Now, after this we watched a film called Overlord which was a horror set in and around some paratroopers during the D-Day landings.
Zombie Nazis - what's not to like    Gloriously silly fun.  Not going to win many Oscars but so whut?
It's a reverse Elvis thing.

I remember that.  Did you notice the microphone cable in the last shot?

Reservoir Dogs, at last.  We bought the VHS cassette decades ago but herself & her parents shrank away shrieking ooh nasty claret and insisted on bailing at around 10 minutes in.  Netflux finally acquired it, missus said well you can puke in your own wastebin so I watched it in the privacy of me own orifice and really enjoyed it. Of course.  Missus now says well I might...

Leonard and Marianne - Words of Love at the Station Cinema in Richmond.

I don't think you need to be a massive Leonard Cohen fan (I'm not) - it was a fine documentary, some amazing, beautiful shots of the Greek island where they lived, and I think the entire audience was weeping gently at the end. I might have let a manly tear drift down my cheek.

No matter how many times I watch that film (and I have seen it *many* times), at the end I’m always yelling, “Get on the bloody train, you idiot!”
"The future's all yours, you lousy bicycles."

I couldn't quite work out how he managed to get his suitcase off the train, away from his
girlfriend's sight (who was sitting right in front of him), when he left the carriage to buy
the two cartons of milk from the vending machine at the other side of the platform entrance?

He didn't appear to have it with him when he descended to the platform.

“In Between”, or Bar Bahar as its titled in Arabic, observing the lives of three Palestinian girls sharing a flat in Tel Aviv. Quite moving, and with a fantastic soundtrack.

Avengers: Endgame. On,y. Excuse I was on a 12hr flight. Probably didn’t get full value as I’d only previously watched Avenger: Assemble. In the same flight 2 months previously.

Free Solo.
Man climbs thing, doesn't fall off. The end.
People who struggle to answer the question why they want to cycle x hundred kilometers might appreciate aspects of this.
I really enjoyed it in spite of very sweaty palms!
We're watching this on All4 at the moment.  Thanks for the spolier!  ;)
It's very good.  He's a bit... errm... eccentric!
I think you do actually see him topping out right at the very beginning, though I suppose you have to know what you are seeing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I watched Sicario 2 last night (the first film is TERRIFIC). It was a bit of a let down, still an OK follow up but not nearly as affecting as the first.

The trailer made it look very good, and the good bits were good, however the plot was very thin.

I've watched the first twice it's that good.

We watched three films over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Suicide Squad which was just awful. Boring, nonsensical and not even so bad it's good.

Baby Driver which we enjoyed on the whole. Not much substance but well made. I heard someone describe it as essentially a long music video which sounds about right.

And last night the 2014 Hercules with The Rock as the main man. Silly dumb fun before heading back to work.

Last night, 'last chance to watch' on My5: 'We were Soldiers'

I should have known better. It had Mel 'Sugartits Racist' Gibson in it.

Quick summary: All God's Chilluns is American, all races is Catholic American, gunz, God, God, gunz, etc. Add in some token scenes with the NVA, which boil down to their commander admiring the brave Children of  GOP God, and a token Real Person NVA Soldier for Human Interest. The [presumably CGI] Thuds and Skyraiders weren't bad, but the rest of the film was unmitigated shite.
