Garmin on/ off button cover split
« on: 10 October, 2019, 04:01:54 pm »
The on/ off rubber cover on my Edge 800, that I've had for a number of years now, has split leaving the internals susceptible to water ingress and then leading to a dead Garmin (possibly?).

Anyone know if you can fix them?

Ideally I'd like to keep the unit I have as the battery life is still really good and not sure if a replacement unit would necessarily be the same??

Any help appreciated.

Gibbo.

The puncture patch is a smart idea, I haven't had success with Sugru (on my Oregon)

Same happened with mine, and my car keys. My solution as pencil erasers in the hole to push the buttons and a couple of layers of PVC electrical tape neatly over the top.

Maybe something from the Shoe Goo thread?
