LEL - Introducing Caff Culture
« on: 28 June, 2009, 11:27:58 pm »
Note the spelling... This unique British institution pronounced caff not cafay

As I sat in the Caedmon Caff*  (On the A68, before Carter Bar. - That's original LEL)  this morning drinking my milky coffee, with a full fry up  black pudding and extra white toast.

I got to thinking, & decided it's up to us Brits to introduce our stomach lining delights to our visitors,

If a 100% fat diet is good enough for Sir Ranulph Twistleton Fiennes to walk across the Antartic pulling his grub behind him it's got to be good for LEL. Besides which we can help relieve pressure on the controllers.

What the heck, in Scotland we might even be able to stoke up on deep fried pinhead oatmeal! yummy

* That name sounds too posh, should be Fred's, or Sal's  ...

square sausage? whats all that about! Baps, buns, stotties!

Baps, my students call boobs baps! Now that is a bit scary if you are talking about sticking a bit of bacon inbetween  a floured bap! Even worse if it's buttered and has sauce on it! Sound like a kinky fetish now!

Steady on Lynn. There's a caff in S. Yorks called Big Baps.

I used to commute past this establishment (in NE Hampshire, FWIW).

No ambiguity at all.
