I'm doing a control for this event at Uffculme.  Anyone entered it?  It is definitely running, they have 10 entries at the moment.  Same weekend as the MSG 300.  Arthur Vince has said he has made the route "easier".  Here is a picture from last year

I did the control at Uffculme
10 entries, 8 starters, 1 DNF by my control at 239km
Quickest time to my control was 15 hours

They all ate pasta.  No one went for the bacon sandwich option, which surprised me

The pasta & sponge/custard went down a treat considering
how tired I was. For the last 60km my head wanted to sleep,
just could not focus on the route sheet. Legs still felt ok, but
arms & hands totally wrecked. Followed Pippa & Jeromy for
most of the way until I stopped for a comfort break just prior
to Broadwindsor. This is where me & the route sheet parted
company. Did not find the L at T sp Mosterton. but passed
L sp Mosterton & ended up down in foggy Beaminster with very
little time to finish. I have ridden this road many times on other
events & knew there was no L at T until some where after Beaminster.
So why did I pass the L turn sp Mosterton :-\
Climbed upto Mosterton & once more back on route.
Chased some badgers down the road into Halstock , most amusing
seeing them run & grunt as they finally escaped my lights through a
gap in the hedge.
Finished with minutes to spare & treated with some rather delicious
food.
On the whole I really enjoyed this event, great weather, good company
& great scenery. But I really should have had a few early nights before
starting, which would have made the last 60k easier.
