Phew, I was starting to wonder if you were still with us!

That first one looks quite handy.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Found this in a skip, and couldn't resist. Took out the glass 'bowls' and stored safely, and carried it home as shown. Hinged top for the access of.  Very nice, Was thinking of 4 small succulents, as opposd to candles, with the  upper 2 possibly hanging ones. Are there any succulents that hang over the edge?

I think this:

Green by Mr Larrington, on Flickr
is vaguely succulent-esque and is certainly very dangly but I have absolutely no idea what it is.  Lt. Col. Larrington (retd.) refers to it as “The Triffid” and it's dangled the thick end of six feet :jurek:

When I was small, we had a tumble drier mounted on top of the washing machine in the downstairs loo.  For reasons that probably made sense to my mum, a triffid like that lived in a (plastic) pot on top of the tumble drier.  Every now and then a combination of dry soil and the spin cycle would cause it to jump off and attack a vulnerable toilet-user.

The mention of dry soil, toilet users and tumble dryers conjures up............never mind. ::-)

- not exactly 'found this on a ride today and thought I'd take it home' - but "what is it?"
It's about a mile from the sea on the Newport Levels , so, clue there ?
I think it's been on a harbour wall ...

It *might* be a Spigot Mortar Emplacement but quite corroded. It was used to plonk machine guns for defensive positions. See http://www.pillbox-study-group.org.uk/other-wwii-defensive-structures/spigot-mortar/

I had a look on the eDoB online map, if the bobbin is near Pye Corner then it might be this https://edob.mattaldred.com/map/e00077

I used to have a smaller one of those when I was a teenager. I know that's not mine because I dropped it into the spokes and it came out L-shaped no damage to the wheel.

''Oh Yes,  we have no......''   Well now, apparently the semi local Tesco contacted this lady, and asked if she could 'host ' a couple of tables on her corner garden plot, She said yes, and they regularly deliver 'unsold' food items, rather than put them in the skip. presumably fruit has a finite life, so food banks are less useful. Any way , she said it would all be gone by the time the school children had all passed by. I asked when the next delivery was, and what would be innit,  ::-), of course she didn't know. Needless to say I took 'a few'  .

NOTE TO SELF........do not put 'numerous' bunches of bananas in your saddle bag,on top of thing like locks etc, then go for a 40km bumpy  ride. Most were fine, some were just still edible..........image......cyclist eating banana pulp with a spoon, straight from the depths of his saddlebag..

Then around the corner, I spied this enterprising individual.  Q. has the world gone MAD?

Strange one this. Was riding home at about 10.15pm from Morris dance practice, and I spied this , on the floor, at one of those pedestrian traffic islands, with the illuminated bollards.  Not a sole about, anywhere. The thing is, it was round the corner from a local co-op store. but the strange thing is, it was not alone.  There, in the centre of the road, was this 1 ltr 'un opened' bottle of whisky ish, an unopened packet of fags, and a brown 'bakery' bag' that was sealed over with the price tag. Oh well, I helped myself to the above and left the rest, thank goodness for saddle bags. It was indeed 'un opened' and is not too bad.

Spotted this about a foot into the crop in a field when on the King Alfred's Way recently.

I guess it had been there a short while, days not weeks.  Flip it over & open and there's a Motorola phone inside.

So I did the usual thing & put it on charge when I got home in the hope it would ring.  Except that when powered up it says no SIM, must be for navigation only then.
I can't think of a way of reuniting it with it's owner.  Suggestions?  If there were a build of /e/ for it I'd be tempted to keep & use it.

Is it locked?  Are there any trips logged on it?  That might provide a clue to where the owner lives.

Yeah, pattern locked and there was no obvious smear trail to give clues.

Ah! Now that's what i calls a find.   In the 'hot' wash on return, and I wore it today on 'hilda, (my recumbent) and it is indeed just the most purfect ting on such a machine, long peak, and the flap covers the tops of thee ears, and also funnels that cooling ait around the back of one's neck. It's even got 4 good sized vent holes in the hat with insect proof mesh! ( It's a  Legionaire Bowls hat) Absolutely chuffed I is.

I bought a kepi the other day.
I've yet to use it in earnest.
I think I might put some vent holes in it first.
