Once I have filled the bidons and had a leak. I am finding the early afternoon heat pretty tough. My stoker seems to be impervious.

Good effort but...Marko Baloh got to Brest in 18:31:11 and is already back to Carhaix  :o

Others may be faster - I just checked a couple of the fastest finishers from 2019.

Canonically it is 42 hours.

ISTR that the bloke who broke the record a few years back did it mostly on croissants & coffee and couldn't face either for a good while afterwards.

Thanks for taking the time out to post on here, LWAB.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

He already is, from 2015.

Zigzag was two hours faster to Carhaix on the way back and arrived at Loudeac over an hour ago.

A158 if I've worked the tracker thing correctly.

The Rulz, Article 15 says,

“ Whatever the realized time, a brevet will not be homologated in less than 43h32 (this corresponds to an average speed of 28 km/h).”

Is that also true for the 80 hour and 84 hour groups?

Nick DeHaan (A169) controlled at Dreux after 40:58:29 - apparently that is 28.72kph.  He is likely to finish in under 43 hours.

Maybe they will acknowledge his actual time but put 43:32:00 on his brevet card.

It'll be on Strava anyway  ;)

As I was typing that he finished.

41:46:30

That is 29.18kph   :o

I missed him coming in, I thought Marco Baloh was first!
He's American, from Detroit.
Caught his interview. He said he had to work hard after the controls as his support crew weren't as efficient as the French so he lost time. It was his family and they only decided to come over a couple of weeks ago.
his rivals were mainly from group B so he had to put at least 15 minutes into them.

I stalked him on Strava and spotted that last month he did a rolling 400k (ish) @ 33.8kph  Perceived Exertion: Moderate!

Anyone know who is likely to be next in?
I dint know if there is a leader board view on the tracker...?

Edit, just asked an acp guy, baloh is next, probably another 20 mins

Baloh just arrived together with Severn Zotter, 42:36

Look a lot fresher than Dehaan.

If they don't change the rules, these two are the first finishers (and maybe record holders? (EDIT no, 10 mins slower than Bjoern)). But I expect they'll find a way to validate Dehaan's ride

I watched another 3 come in. I'll go back for Rimas / zigzag who I reckon will be 4:15 or thereafter. I am assuming he's the first auk, but anyone know if there's anyone else ahead of him? Veloboy is behind.

Possibly Matt Page?  According to the tracker he is still 'Waiting to start' but he didn't hang about on LEL.
