I'm not sure if I'll be able to make a March ride - due to moving, job hunting etc.

I'm up at the crack of Dawn on 14th to ride an audax with Peli so 13th isn't good for me..

Who's Dawn?  :o
I'm assuming that the 6th is too soon for people to organise the time what about the 27th. The 21st is the WARTY so pretty much rules out the 20th.

We could always spend the night at Shenfield station?

The 27th March would be fine for me.  Don't really mind where we go, anything that involves bikes and pubs is just dandy.

We are due another one.

Reg & I speculated about the Ferry Boat, North Fambridge, for a pootle. Easy rail access, food, real ale.

I'm about to set off on a jaunt to that very establishment!

As for dates, I can make the 6th or the 20th
This isn't just a thousand to one shot. This is a professional blood sport. It can happen to you. And it can happen again.

The Ferry Boat does sound good.  I like the idea of food.  Might prevent me from getting quite so wasted  ;D

[Edit] Just looked at their website and noticed they have rooms!  This adds a whole new dimension!  Please can we go here?

I too can do the 27th (unless Mrs O knows different - will check tonight),  although unfortunately I can't do any of the other fridays in March.

It's possible that my legs might have fallen off by then, though, since I'm doing my first ever 100km ride the weekend before and it's a wee bit lumpy (AUK Killhope Grimpeur, 1800m of climbing :o).   I'm also doing my first 150km the following weekend (5th April, in Essex, so a bit less lumpy) so I may have to bail out anyway on grounds of recovery, so don't bend dates on my behalf!

Mark, I think you've missing the point, these rides aren't strenuous.  I have no doubt whatsoever that you will be physically capable of taking part, irrespective of what you've just done!

Actually, most of what you said seemed to make sense. You just gave the impression of being completely unaware of it.

It's still worth spending money on beer as I am much more attractive to women when drunk.

Yo!

20th/27th wouldn't be a problem. There's some possibility that I might be racing in Milton Keynes on either Saturday 7th or 21st (or even both dates!), and boozing it up 'til late with the Essex boys the night before is probably not the way to be going into my first proper competitive event!
