TV Coverage for World Track Champs in Copenhagen?
« on: 07 February, 2009, 12:39:20 pm »
I've been looking to see if there's any coverage of this next weekend (13-15 Feb), even a summary programme on Sunday evening, but can't see anything.  Am I missing something, or doesn't the BBC (or any other channel) care any more about the track team?  Team GB backed off for the last two World Cup meetings, but are back in force in Copenhagen to improve on the second place they still hold.

If there's any coverage of cycling to be had, it can usually be found here:
www.cyclingfans.com | 2009 Tour of Qatar Live Streaming Video - The Guide to Live Race Coverage - Watch Cycling TV

Doesn't look good for the track racing though...

Thanks gonzo.  I didn't get on very well with cycling.tv when I tried it before, but maybe that was down to my computer/video card.

I seem to remember that there was a BBC report on the Manchester meeting of the Track World Cup series, but perhaps that's because it was a UK event shortly after the Olympics.

That link is a place that scours the web for live racing then posts links so it's unlikely to always be cycling.TV. Also, rather handily, it links to video feeds from the big races too like the grand tours and spring classics.

Gotta love http://www.cyclingfans.com  They are a very handy site to find online race coverage.  In fact, during the racing season I set them as my homepage!

I was there today and saw some great bike races.
I saw Chris Hoy hit the wood in a high speed crash during the Keirin final, he is now badly
bruised and won't ride sunday.

The only small problem is that lots of the big race people know about them and so watch them to find which sites to have a word with. Either that, or servers become so loaded with viewers that it becomes unwatchable. For the bigger races, I use this too:
Justin.tv - Live Streaming Video

That's a lot of ouch for Hoy.  Looks like his skinsuit's been set on fire.

Hoy has now confirmed he won't be going to the Worlds in Poland

Unsurprising after that crash, but he's been ordered to stop training till he heals. :(

Yeah, but it'll be interesting to see how much the B team trounce the opposition!
