Add my best wishes for your recovery.  I still don't remember my crash from eleven years ago and think it's better that way.

I am glad they have taken action; they never found my adversary.

Get well soon Riggers, and do heed the doc's advice about when you can go back to work, those bangs on the head can take a while to settle down.  Obvs the important bit is your bike, and it may well be worth a trip over to Enigma at Hailsham with it, or at least a phone call.  In my limited experience they are very helpful and one of Chas' lads works there now as a frame builder so if anyone can give you a definitive opinion on it it would surely be him.

Best wishes for your recovery Riggers. It's appalling that some people see fit to drive when they're in no fit state.

Well that sucks. I had a decent dose of concussion a few 25 years ago, and lost about 6 months worth of memory. It took me about a month to feel normal-ish. Do be gentle with yourself. I tried to rush back to work, and it didn't serve me well.

Best wishes for the recovery.

Sorry to hear the news, Riggsy, but glad the bastard is being prosecuted.  Hope you eventually get a big amount of personal injury compensation, too.

Get the frame looked at thoroughly by someone who knows, particularly any paint damage. If it comes back with a clean bill of health, I'd trust it without reservation. Often, only the weakest link is damaged, so dead forks often mean little or no frame damage.

I hope your head stops ratting soonest, that something of the bike is salvageable as a memento if it can't be ridden again, the proverbial book gets thrown at the culprit and that I see on on the road round here soon.

Thanks all.

Fatters, the chap was quite remorseful to the Police and compliant. My guess: he lived locally, and thought "Sure I'll just run you up to the church, it's only round the corner", and 'thought' he was 'fine'.

Strapping is off hand now, having seen the Trauma Unit yesterday, and been told to start exercising the fingers, but to be very careful and not knock the hand for a couple of months. The T4 vertebra will have to fuse on its own, because of its position, somewhere between the shoulder blades. Back ache and lower neck pain is waking me at night, and little niggles/aches are cropping up, but it's early days. Blinking a lot, and fatigued.

All the best chaps.

Just to let you know:

I am pleased with the progress of my hand, and can make a fist now, trying to get the tendons to 'glide' underneath the scarring. Seeing Physio lady on Tuesday again to show her I've been a good boy.

Still have back, neck and headaches, and right knee continually clicks. Had a dizzy moment walking back from the bank today (which is a first!!) but it passed in about 10 seconds.

The chap who caused the accident pled guilty in court, and received a 16 month ban and just over a £2,000 fine.
