SRAM disc brake pads. OEM or knock off?
« on: 24 February, 2024, 04:27:14 pm »
I've not changed disc pads before, as everything has been rim braked. However, last year I got another Pino, this time with SRAM Guide discs. Doing a bit of tinkering today I measured the pads. 3.2mm, so approaching replacement time.

Do I shell out for SRAM pads or are "suitable for" ones just as good?

"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

I run Dura Ace hydros with Uberbike own brand (yellow - sintered) pads on Uberbike rotors. I've not failed to stop...

Edit... They do multi buy discounts and had recently a 30% off voucher.

I'm assuming you mean the backing plate & remaining pad measures 3.2mm.  In which case, yes, replace.  Get anything suitable.

Get thee to Disco brakes for their Kevlar/copper free pads.

Clever enough to know I'm not clever enough.
