According to the calendar he is due in Essex tonight, so some of the blank space on the tracker will start to get filled today.

Well, if Dez wants to host him, that's fine by me, but I don't think Steve will get much attention. Dez has just gone back to bed after an early shift.

Steve's staying with Flitchbiker Alex aka 'Teaboy', [but not otp...] Signature move: stopping half-way through a 12 hour MTB enduro for a cream tea...that's a fairly Teethgrinder-ish thing to do - they should get on well  ;D

Flitchbiker implies Dunmow. I reckon there will be some anfractuosity before he arrives.

He appears to have gone past the end of the drive wot was my late aunt's in the 1970s, where I spent the occasional half-term while the parents were living in Abroad protecting the Empire against the Godless Communist Hordes of Peking.

I misread that last part.

Go Steve.

Reminds me of a boss we once had, ex military and still with a rather regimented attitude. He managed three shift teams and had a recurring meeting in his diary, 8:00 - 8:10 every day, with the subject 'Brief morning shift'.

As you were.

Go Steve go.

Lovely day here in south Suffolk. Steve definitely heading to the right part of the country. My commute takes me north west of Ipswich and the wind was behind me most of the way.

Wondering how religiously Steve is planning to stick to his plan, what with conditions being so good today....could it be the first of a bigger mileage days, to make the most of the weather?

I have faith Steve knows exactly what he is doing, but it doesn't stop me getting nervous with Kurt putting in the buffer he has over the last two months

He's currently heading for Balsham, of the Infamous Left Turn.

There's also a fairly decent Audax hotel there which I shared with Tomsk on the Asparagus and Strawberries one year.

He seems to have neglected to turn right in Great Bardfield... perhaps he doesn't know about The Blue Egg?

Somehow I don't think a poncey bit of quiche or a salad would quite cut it for Steve  :P

True... but the sausage rolls are a good size and very tasty!
