Music folder in Vista is blank?
« on: 19 May, 2008, 03:36:01 pm »
Help!
The music folder is a 'special folder' and is a big bluey green thing rather than a poxy little yellow thing.
Very technical but you'll know what I mean.
Mine is there but appears to be blank, it doesn't open, right clicking just reveals a blank general tab.
Its been like this for ages so I don't want to use system restore.
I need this folder as itunes etc uses it as a default.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance but I think I'm pushing my luck this time!

'Music' should map to 'c:\users\julian\music'  (assuming your username is 'julian')

Try opening that folder in explorer and see if there is anything there. If so, it's just a shortcut problem.

If I go that route 'music' doesn't appear at all.
Only way it comes up is by clicking start bottom left, and it is listed along with 'documents' 'games' etc but it still won't open.

Yes, took the plunge to go for itunes today and now I'm really struggling.
My CD player has given up and I don't see the point in buying another, intend to put everything on an ipod classic, but not without my bloody music folder!!!!!!!!

If there isn't a 'Music' folder under 'c:\users\julian' , then create one and see what happens.

Can't seem to create that type of folder, think its called a common folder, different from the standard ones.
