Hello,
After running our
200 and
140 km rides for a few years now, we have expanded the repertoire for 2016 with a new
170 km ride.
Whereas the 200/140 rides head up to Hungerford, the new one is quite different and heads west out to Bruton on quiet roads through Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset (mostly in the Cranborne Chase AONB and also a bit of the New Forest National Park). This is a long-time favourite ride of mine, which I must have done quite a few times down the years with a few route variations. It has a bit of everything including quiet roads, a traverse of Salisbury, some long open stretches over the downs, several sublime descents, one killer climb, lots of hairpin bends, and quite possibly the best croissants in the south of England!
Possibly something for next year if you are looking to step up to 200km (or just a nice century ride in summertime).
