Title: Underfloor Heating and Walk-in Shower

In thinking about and planning this set-up, I am wondering whether it would be normal practice to extend the underfloor heating wiring under the walk-in shower, ie over the heat-insulating  former (https://www.fountaindirect.co.uk/browse-by-brand/wedi/wedi-fundo-primo-shower-base.html) and under the adhesive and tiles (obviously).

Why? Would be my question. If you have one of the “stone” shower trays then it will heat up. Sry slowly and if it is plastic you probably do not want constant heating.

We have circulating hot water underfloor heating and it is wonderful. I really do not see any need in the shower.

Where you do need it is round the toilet. Ours stops about 2 feet from the toilet pan which is really annoying.

Yes is the simple answer, when using marble or porcelain tiles if you don't , most people will turn on the shower to heat up the tile long before going in to  the shower .So wasting energy ect .P S make sure you prime all surfaces to be tiled with SBR

Yep, extend it under the shower, it's standard practice in Scandinavia.

Don't forget to insulate your sub-floor as well.

It would presumably also help the shower to dry out more quickly and be less mouldy...
