BTW, I have massaged Ruby's asking for a table for 4 at 2000hrs on Friday evening.   If there are more or less of us I can amend the booking as the week unfolds assuming they have a table in the first place.

Should be ok for 20:00 if I leave at 18:00, about 25 miles from Dunmow, unless I meet you in Witham en-route?

No idea what the plan is. I shall let you know post tomorrow evening.

Snowed under with work so not out tonight, sadly.

Also have friends staying at the weekend who wanted to visit the pub opposite rather than bivvy with OD. I know, I can't understand it either.

Up for a September tent/bivvy though...

I'd of even let them use my orange trowel!

What time does the Witham peloton want to set off this evening?  7 or 7:30pm?

I was about to ask the same question.  I can do 7 if that's the consensus, as we have a longer outward route this week.

7pm works for me too.  Although when we used to launch at 7:30 we still managed longer outward routes, its just that we had less pub time which may or may not be a good thing.

The earlier starts are supposed to compensate for reduced beering time due to having to site outside, so far it seems to have enabled more beering time with the late mild evenings.

An Indian or pub in Maldon, or Witham, isn't so far from the coastal destination?

I'll be coming to the Compasses tonight, but I can't leave until late (meeting with the Brazilians).  I'll make my own direct way there once I finish up here.

Regarding the Wild Camping Extravaganza tomorrow night...

I have secured a reservation HERE for 4 people at 2000hrs.  Is that OK?  Thus far the intrepid Wild Campists are myself, Tomsk and Oaky, anyone else?

I have amended the proposed route HERE.  Where do we fancy meeting?

Exciting

If I leave home by 18:00, I can make Maldon for 20:00, should be about right, given that I'll be a bit loaded-up. I'll probably go the pleasant laney route from Dunmow via Felsted, Gt Leighs, Terling, Hoe Mill Lock, Cut-a-Thwart Lane etc - about 25 miles.

I'm thinking I might forsake the tent and go full bivvy as its supposed to be properly warm tonight.

Me and Oaky are meeting at 7pm by the mini-roundabout where Maltings Lane joins Maldon Road.  There's still room for more of you to join!

Sorted.

huggy made me close down my own premium RwGPS account so I could save money by using the ACME account for route planning.  When I transfer a route to my own route library so it gets picked up by Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it sets the route to PRIVATE by default.  I suppose the answer is to link to the route in the ACME route library.

Folks. Not sure if there are plans for Wednesday but I'd be happy to open the bar up. I have several bottles left to make cocktails and if people want to chip in I can do a run to a local brewery for a selection of ales. Any interest?

OD, Ican see you sitting down with a pornstar Martini and a shot of prosecco.
If it stays warm there is also the pool available for cooling off.

Sounds like a great idea Tippers, and hopefully it fits in. I’m unexpectedly back and not planning to work this week, so a slightly longer ride out for me is fine. Happy to contribute to ales.

Excellent. I'll get a couple of boxes from Colchester brewery sorted tomorrow. Let me know if there are any preferences or if you are happy with a selection
