It seems that, after far too much time spent arguing with a call-centre script1 jockey, Sky are now going to send me a new router  Which is nice given that my current one is flakier than a nuclear strike on a Kellogg's factory and their Ts&Cs mean I can't use my own router ::-)

I can't fault their actual service, since I'm getting more bandwidth than I ever got when I was with Demon despite being a long way from the exchange, but their customer service is absolutely fucking dreadful.

1 - except they're not scripts any more, they're 'call flow charts'

I have cycled today. An anniversary ride to celebrate the fact that the accident that put me into a coma with brain injuries 16 years ago today did not, as was expected, end my life.
I have bad times but I am celebrating the fact that I still Have SOME time :-)

My daughter had a picture from yesterday's race published in the 'local' rag (well, local in that it covers an area akin to twice the M25, but about 1% the population[1])

Not of the winner crossing the line, though..? ;D

Well done to her.  She's shown an eye for a good photo before, hasn't she?

3 weeks is not 2 months, so hurray :)  Now keep on being sensible and looking after yourself properly so that it is still a good idea in three weeks time!

*giggles*  It would be fully healed by the time he answers the phone...

I was going to say something like that myself, but decided against it ...

Yep - recumbent trikes are always a good idea, IMO1. Pity my bank manager doesn't share this opinion :)

My own bit of good news: I think I've managed to stabilise my blood sugars by virtue of not being such a salad dodger - the trick now is to keep it going.

1 - I'm now having evil thoughts about a recumbent fat-trike  :demon:

It's arriving at fboab's on Wednesday so she has a couple of weeks to look at it and for her *ahem* handy bike fettler who *ahem* might be good at indexing gears (which is something I am completely hopeless at) to *ahem* decide to have a look and see if he can improve the new dumping-of-chain-in-lowest-gear issue since I lent it to another friend who is an inveterate bike-fiddler (and not too successful at it).

Still, can't complain about former bike-fiddler as his wife made me a fab chocolate cake and I've just had the first 450 calorie slice with my cuppa!

My friend who was hospitalised on Saturday with chest pains and did suffer a mild heart attack has had 'a procedure' today.   He comes home tomorrow unless there are complications.   :)

Jan and I celebrate 36 years' marriage today. I believe Messieurs & Mesdames Hoy and Fawlty also have 17th April as their anniversaries.
