Yodel
« on: 17 September, 2014, 05:47:55 pm »
We ordered some high quality food for our whippet and were told it would be with us today and we received a tracking number.

Imagine our surprise at finding it had been delivered at 9-47 this morning. As of course nothing had been.

Yodel are "investigating" and will get back to us in two days or so.... meanwhile Harvey is looking at a sadly empty dish.

Yodel are it seems for the 2nd year running the worst performing courier service in the UK. Wonderful news.

We have pointed this minor detail out to the company we bought from namely Zooplus, adding it seems a bit silly to use a proven poor service provider.

I am surprised that Yodel and City Link manage to remain in business with such famously poor reputations.

You're not their customer, the online retailers you order from are.  Until they receive an overwhelming number of complaints, they're more interested in the bottom line than whether parcels take a circuitous route via a hedge or the card-ninja.

And there's money to be made charging for premium delivery if it comes with a "not Yodel" promise.

Yodel are nowhere near as bad as Hermes.

But we've had two recent orders from ZooPlus left on our doorstep (on a pretty busy road) by Yodel - this seems to count as delivering something these days.

We didn't get any food for Harvey delivered though - so it wasn't us!
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Go back to the original company and tell them. If it isn't sorted out quickly then tell them you will find an alternate supplier - one who uses a delivery company, not a bunch of charlatans.

It is simpler than it looks.

After a lot of kicking and screaming the parcel arrived today mid afternoon.

We told Zooplus point blank that we would not order from them again due to their carrier. If they choose to lose our business it's their choice.
