Mr Smith is not loving cycling at the moment so I think it's just me. I've never been there and will take your recommendation. As you know I'm not fussy about food or drink - as long as there is some

The one at the Darlington end. Do you have an ETA? I can be there anytime, really.

Darlington end is The Vane- I reckon it's 90 minutes from here so I'll shout when I set off- it should be half four-ish.

Wednesday or Thursday this week?

Can we do Ingleby Arncliffe again?

Thursday works for me, and Arncliffe's fine. I don't think I'll be there till 7-ish, though, as I'd like to add a loop out somewhere...

Dale - it's not far from Northallerton (9 miles) or Eaglescliffe (10 miles), and there's a reasonably late train - 21.47 from Northallerton or 15 minutes later from Eaglescliffe.

I’m riding from Darlington to Bowes on Thursday morning to cycle from Bowes to Croft on Tees (with girlfriend and her mum who are doing the W2W), so maybe?

I've decided to do some square bagging, so my ETA is somewhat fluid depending on whether I (a) fall off a cliff somewhere on the moors, (3) get shot by a farmer, (viii) nothing untoward happens and I arrive early.

Dean - what's the track between Raisdale Mill and Scugdale Hall like? ISTR you've ridden that OK?

Rough and steep - I went up from Scugdale and had to walk. I was on my Pompino, mind.

I turned south onto the bridleway/shooting track towards Snilesworth, which is a decent track, if a bit sheepy down towards the farm. So I dunno what it's like at the Raisdale end.

Well. I consider myself informed. Thanks!

Now all we have to do is work out How the Fcuk there comes to be two of the feckers at Commondale.

Don't think so - go and start one.

I can't make this week, soz. Waiting on some spokes so I can build me some wheels. How a delivery from Sheffield can arrive nearly a week later than an order from Germany which was placed a day later is just one of life's mysteries.

I will go bag my squares and prolly head back home- unless anyone else has any suggestions?

It rained. We didn't go. I also have breathing issues at the moment, which makes riding a bike uphill less entertaining (for me, at least).

Anyone fancy this week? I can do Wednesday or Thursday, but I'd prefer close (10 miles or so) to Darlo.
