« on: 25 June, 2010, 11:39:43 am »
In case people that stumble upon my blog don't know much about UK Audax riding I have done a little
A to Z guide

Audax A-Z « Audaxing Blog

Anything really crucial I've missed?

"Nelson of Carradice?" I thought he came from Norfolk!

Also - LEL is every four years.

You've got VM but don't mention AutoRoute

Worth mentioning DIYs, Perms and calendar events?

RRtY?

You might want to refer the SR entry to an "Audax Season" link (the series needs to be completed in a season) and specify the November -> October season. This may in turn lead on to a reference to RRTY, which in turn may lead on to a reference to Mudguards... :)

If you have the Devils Staircase then you should have the Devils Elbow, which then references the
Snow Roads (the nicest 300k Audax in the UK) and should then include the Cairnwell as the highest pass on an A road in UK.

Under S you missed Scotland - God's own country for Audax rides.

Maybe there is scope for a Classic Rides book in the same vein as Classic Rock/Hard Rock/Extreme Rock that coffee tables some  of the well known rides (Dartmoor Devil, Brian Chapman, LEL, Snow Roads etc.)

My fingers are bleeding keeping up with all the suggestions so far

I've only ridden in Scotland for LEL, I'd like to go there to do more rides but surely Wales is the best place for Audax rides  ??? ;D ::-)

A "classic rides" list would make another good page or article or whatever.  But I'd have to get help for that, I've not done the Snow Roads or the 3 Coasts or the Porkers etc etc

Audax, raid, Youth Hostel, dart, arrow, bus shelter, Spooners, YACF, yahoo group, CTC, chapeau, el Supremo, FWC, randonneur, packing etc etc.

I'll stop because your list could become monsterously wrong.  Maybe a wikitionary is called for!

I think that would be a bridge too far.  Most Americans think that a flapjack is a sort of pancake
