IroIroMono and I have been intending to ride the Twilight 600 perm for a couple years. We've fixed the date for the 8th/9th of August and would love for you to come along.
Tyndrum is well provided for with a number of accommodation options including early morning sneakery in chalets and camping lodges/pods and it has a tactical advantage for tourist season riding.
With a target average of 16/17kmh it allows for the busy section over Rannoch Muir to be disposed of before the tourists wake up with the first shop opening at 7am.
The remote roads of Morvern and Ardgour provide the day time entertainment before arriving in Fort William later afternoon and down to Oban for the evening.
Returning through Tyndrum gives the chance for a snooze after 325km before heading for the lowlands via Glen Ogle and Callander.
The Lowland loops takes us down to South Queensferry before the lumping through Fife to get back into the Highlands at the Sma' Glen.
A Mid-Afternoon liason with Aberfeldy sets things up nicely for an evening blat along Loch Tay and up Strathfillan.
Tyndrum is provided for by 2 stations, whether the Class 153 bike units will be in operation to Oban (and therefore Lower Tyndrum) from Glasgow is another question.
