Garmin 1000

 Has a problem with the power switch. Cover is missing and now the switch is temperamental, used to work pressing down with a toothpick. Found an easy fix , glue up the cover with epoxy and it powers up connecting a power bank . This should last until the usb port dies.

Must be so many G1000's sitting around in drawers with this problem  :o

Good post, shows you that the 1000 power button is a design fault . It should have been a hard plastic switch, the power switch has a soft plastic pin under the cover to contact the switch and it  starts to miss the contact point when the cover splits.
