I must say, despite my reservations about Vino, I'm really enjoying his performance today. True grit.

Fantastic ride by Millar yesterday.  But what happened to Wiggins ?

Got a "hunger flat" on the run-in according to his DS, Sean Yates.

Evans was brilliant yesterday, in fact he's been great all season, but chapeau to everyone for riding at those speeds on those bikes in that weather on those roads!

Yep, and yesterday's stage was yet another highly enjoyable one. I thought Sky were making a good stab at leading the run-in for a bunch sprint but they seemed to disintegrate in the narrow, twisty-turny streets of the closing few km. Some of those corners looked really hairy at the speeds they were going. All the top three finishers were awesome. A sprint like that takes some bottle and phenomenal bike-handling skills - though obviously very different to the skills required on Saturday's stage.

I really would like to have seen Cav and Hushovd involved in a finish like that.

When is a breakaway a breakaway and not a split in the peloton?

another epic stage on the Giro.

Richie Porte in pink now? He should still have around 8 minutes on Wiggins.

Porte can TT

The kid was going for the white jersey anyway, so he is a genuine GC contender.

Yeah, I read that. Interesting. I must admit I don't know much about him. From what I can tell, he's never really figured much in the big tours... but then neither had Wiggo until last year.

What about David Arroyo? He's a very strong climber, isn't he?

This Giro is Xavier Tondo's first ever grand tour - he could struggle in the third (difficult) week.

Arroyo's in a good position. Good climber and with a strong-ish, disciplined team. Not sure about his time trialling ability but the remaining TT's are not that long and one's a mountain TT in any case.
