Now this is interesting....he's taken right turn and is heading south towards Aldermaston, so an unexpected manoeuvre presumably to head further south before tomorrow's forecast strong wind picks up....a strategic move.
DJR (Dave Russell) now retired. Carbon Beone parts bin special retired to turbo trainer, Brompton broken, as was I, Whyte Suffolk dismantled and sold. Now have Mason Definition and Orbea M20i.

If he'd taken a few months off, he would not now be the 4th greatest 1yr rider in history.

This /\  /\

4th best in the World..ever...ever.. is NOT a failure of any kind*

*When it's a 365 day, 200 miles a day type of challenge**, then it becomes even less of a failure.

(I'd wager that cycling 1 mile every day, 365 days in succession, is quite difficult.)
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

Steve's average speed is dropping further as he heads into the hills. Are we taking bets whether he'll hit a bus shelter or a Premier Inn once the storm hits?

How about 24 years of daily rides?

The weather (wind) here has become bonkers in the last few hours. I hope Steve takes care of himself if it gets dodgy out there.
You're only as successful as your last 1200...

There was an offer of vehicle transfer from Woking on FB yesterday.  Maybe he's headed there.

Doesn't look like it...he's firmly on a southerly route?  If he needs any vehicle transfers it'll be tomorrow night from up North to avoid riding into headwinds getting back down South again.
