Got whammed at the Xmas do yesterday.  Only the 5th - not a vintage year!

Whammed and Pogued in the office today.  I was off yesterday and the office manager was off the day before - as soon as I had contact with her Heart FM habit it was bound to happen.

I'm out. Got Whammed en route to court for jury service this morning.

Is that grounds for a lifetime exemption from jury service?

How to wind up 7,000 people.

I did giggle immoderately on reading that one first thing this morning.  ;D

There's a non-zero possibility of a radio station with national coverage Whamming a similar number scattered across the country, but you have to admit that Whamming that many people in one go at one location is quite an achievement.  :demon:

(Apropos of nothing, had I avoided being Whammed yesterday, I would have got done this morning on the way back from the shops. Either way, I've lasted longer than I was anticipating I would have done, because my neighbour had been playing Crimbo songs on her Alexa starting late last month, so I had been expecting to have been out last weekend.)

I'm still in here, but I have to travel a bit next week, so I think it's only a matter of time.

Does it count if you do it to yourself deliberately? I don't know why anyone would - it's not like you can claim on your insurance. But would it be like the catholic view on suicide?

And what if you hear all the right notes, but in the wrong order?

I'm overthinking this, aren't I?

Still in but I have to walk through our shop on the way to and from my office so it’s pretty dicey.

I didn't realize Portsmouth had sunk down into League One. I see they're top though. Meanwhile, I'm still in but apparently I'm going to a pub tonight.

The chuggers dressed in Santa costumes in Mr Sainsbury's Emporium of Toothy Comestibles had the Die Hard soundtrack on a loop, so I'm still in.

Spent most of the morning in Carmarthen.  The big Tesco's.  Got away with that one.  Day's department store for breakfast. Christmas music playing, but got away with it unWhammed.  Children's choir in the Square, likewise.
I'm playing with fire now, but I'm getting away with it.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I've just been done in the booze aisle  in Sainsbury's. Only myself to blame I suppose, I do tend to loiter there.

I've been in motorway services two or three times since 1st December, but haven't heard anything that I think is the song in question. I don't care about the game itself, because this is my 70th Christmas and I've never knowingly heard the song. But I sort of want to know what all the fuss is about.

Damnit.  This thread, or specifically the linked beeb article, has just provided excellent present ideas for some difficult rellies (Whamageddon merch store).  Too late unfortunately, I need to deliver them on Saturday.

If one must be Wham!med then class 2O's rendition during the school show wasn't the worst way. They are still quite cute, and Christmas Through the Decades gets much better singing out of them than Christmas Around The World last year. But they used the Wham! recording as their backing track, so I am well and truly out. I don't think I've ever been made to listen to it right through before.

It’s not cheating to listen to it. And besides, if you don’t know it, how do you know that you’re not already out?
