Carmarthen Velodrome finally reopens

Hopefully there will be some interesting events for me to watch.
If you ride there, note that it is open air.  And this is West Wales.  Bring your own wetsuit.  ;)

As far as I can tell, the centre of the track is still occupied by Carmarthen Quins' rugby pitch.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Raced there a few times in the past, including on the tandem ( sprint series). Nice track and a great atmosphere in those days.

That does please me, this is the only track I have ever managed to ride on (over 40 years ago!). Limoges used to have a track like Camarthen, built about the same date (1903 for Limoges and 1904 for Camarthen IIRC), but Limoges went into disuse in the 1950's and was demolished in the 1970's to make way for a secondary school.
Limoges has just gained a new track but it is way out of town, inaccessible for most of the kids and the organising committee obviously know nothing about oak leaves and frost affecting the operation of an outdoor concrete track in winter. I give it 5 years before the novelty wears off and it goes the way of the old track. I hope I'm wrong!!
