I ride up to Exeter via Bude every couple of months (it's a nice day ride and I can get the train back), so I was planning on using one such trip to get the baton moving again. Perhaps someone based near Exeter would like to meet up there or somewhere en route?

anyone know lifeboat crew?
There's sometimes a boat 'on passage' to Poole
or Wales or somewhere; we could have a sea-leg to get the stick back into play

That strikes me as cheating, unless you're rowing the boat.

Is there an AndyGates and/or Rower40 in the house? ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

I think you're getting confused with a Boat Forum.

No gratuitous boat journeys.

For a boat journey to count then the same Cyclist should embark with and disembark with Baton, and cycle. (ie A cycle ride which requires a ferry crossing to continue said ride).

I've just discovered this thread. Can someone tell me where the baton is now without me having to wade through all 22 pages?

3) Panoramix hands baton to Feline in Bristol

I know some nuns are keen on cycling, and now I see Feline has a wimple.  :)

Ah. Ok. I'll look forward to it getting a bit further. It's a good looking baton by the way.

All you have to do is wade through the first post on the first page ;)

I've just looked at the map - isn't the baton going the wrong way? It seems a bit SW bound for something that's s'posed to be going from LE to JOG?

It hasn't got to LE yet.  It started at LEE's where he forged it from his blood and inspiration and wood and stuff.  It's still on the way to the start line.

Start is only 9 miles away. I'll have to see if I can't organise a suitable fanfare for the Grand Depart - maybe an oompah band, some synchronised swimmers, the Mousehole Male Voice Choir, fire juggling, dwarf throwing, bouncy castles, full double page colour spread in next weeks edition of "The Cornishman"...

or, most likely:

a hastily recruited random dog walker waving a tiny YACF pennant.

Can we get it to Andy Gates in time to start and accompany him on his LEJOG up as far as Chepstow?  We can then take it on the Gospel Pass before it perhaps went on another southerly ramble prior to making its way back to Chepstow for the Bryan Chapman.

Exactly, this is the Prologue.

I think handover frequency will increase once we get it to London and other big conurbations.

Remember that the aim isn't to get it to JoG as quickly as possible, it's to have as many YACFers meet for a beer/coffee as possible, using the relay as an excuse for a ride.
