Its amazing how many riders manage to ride 400+ audaxs today without little rests or a lie down. When everyone has Strava on the mobile app (ride time only) its as if we're all on drugs.
Audax is about long distance cycling, plenty of riders can do 400 and 600 rides with short feeding stops that's what a 400 or 600 should be. Its when some decide to use the sleeping facilities then post 📯 up joined up rides, thats why X rated long Audaxs are better. Strava ( with the correct tools) is just like Facebook you need to look better than you are in the real world.
Right, so you're not really 'amazed' at how many riders ride 400s or 600s 'non-stop'. You're grumbling (and care about!!) about riders uploading their rides onto Strava and the way that, looking at other people's rides on a mobile phone, the moving time is displayed.
I would have thought the moving time was interesting. For a long ride with AudaxUK sanction, why is elapsed time of interest, to you or anyone? Are you suggesting riders should not upload their rides to Strava (I don't btw)?
Why would 'X' rated long audaxes be "better"? Are you suggesting that most riders on one - the Buzzard (600) for example - do not book a place to sleep 3/5ths around. Most normal people riding a 600 have some long stops if not a lie down (the latter self-organised or organiser facilitated).
"Audax is about long distance cycling: a 400 or 600 should be ridden without sleeping." Is that your assertion? In this wing of the spectrum, is a lie down in an audax hotel OK?
This is a very interesting and troubling issue. I really want to understand the detail.
