Pixie Lott wasn't born then...

Denise Van Outen?  Although she'd have been 11 and therefore you're probably on a register somewhere.

All I can find about Great Baddow is that Jack Straw (no, not him; the Peasants' Revolt leader) came from there.  I don't know how old you are, bobb, but I think this pushes the bounds of credibility.

OK. I like lyric questions, easy to google for them but that would be a hollow victory

what song is this from

"The diving man's coming up for air cause the crowd all love pulling dolly by the hair"

No.  Don't think a Dobro was used in any of their performances or recordings.  Maybe, but it's not significant.

Very good, Smudge!

I thought it might take longer.  I left out 'The Boogie Man', and 'John Lee Booker' cause they might have given it away.  Much as John Lee's voice must have done when his record company heard his recordings under those pseudonyms for other labels.  Quite distinctive.

Lucky guess! I knew Delta John and took a stab based on that (though Johnny Lee was a wee bit of a giveaway).

Now I'll have to think of a question...

OK, another "what links" question but shouldn't be too taxing....
