Right, here's one that came to me a while ago, but I haven't used yet.

How can you link:

Paloma Faith
Christina Aguilera
Bette Midler
and Jive Bunny (nominally)?

Dang!  Ya got me. :-[

No.  Hold on.  I'm sure that's not the answer I had here.

*rustles papers*

No.  Not that.  Carry on.

btw, bobb, if you've had sex with them in a car park, I'd rather not know.  Specially about Jive Bunny.  That is so not the link.

Almost, but Bette Midler was born in Hawaii. ;D

I'm thinking of a stylistic link, though the proximity of the words 'style' and 'Jive Bunny' may be an odd one ;D

Is it going to be something like they've all used the same sample of a choon?

I'm clutching at straws here.

No.  It's definitely about the style of a piece of music.

I didn't think it was that obscure.  They're all mainstream, and there ain't a lot of Jive Bunny songs to be working from... :P

They're not that mainstream! I've never heard of Paloma Faith, I couldn't name a single song by Christina Aguilera (I believe she's quite fit though) Until a year or so ago when I saw her on telly, I thought Bette Midler died some time in the 60s and Jive Bunny had been banished from my mind until you mentioned them!!

Is it something to do with jive/swing hits?

Christina A had a hit with Candyman which was a sort of Andrews Sisters style jive song, I think Bette M did a very similar one; no idea about Paloma, and that Candyman song is exactly the sort of thing J B would have done.

The only things I know about Christina are that she styles herself Xtina and started as a kid on the Mickey Mouse Club. And that I so would.

Based on what I know of Jive Bunny I would guess they all had hits that were mash-ups of old tunes.

Well done, Little Jiiii-iim!  Well done Little Jim </Neddy Seagoon>

That's close enough for me.  Swing was the word I was looking for, as exampled by the following records:

Christina Aguillera - Candyman
Bette Midler - Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (yes, first a hit for the Andrews Sisters)
More recently (and currently on playlists), Paloma Faith has released a song with a nod to tradjazz as well as swing, Upside Down,

Jive Bunny's first IIRC Number 1 was Swing The Mood, which was actually a cut'n'paste of samples of rock & roll tracks, but did use Glenn Miller's In The Mood as an intro and linking sample.

Ooooooohhhh!!!!!!

I have never come close to most of the questions asked before.  I haven't seen all the questions so apologies if this has been asked previously:

Name the only UK number one to feature an ocarina.

Having had to google what an ocarina is, I'd guess Orinoco Flow by Enya.

No, or at least it's not the answer I was told, and I haven't been able to check Orinoco Flow.  I originally heard the question asked by a radio DJ, and it was post Orinoco Flow.

Post? I assumed it was the obvious (to anyone my age anyway). Wild Thing by the Troggs. I didn't answer cos I have to work in a min and haven't got a question.

Well done that man.

By post Orinoco I meant that I heard the question asked after OF had been released, not the the actual tune was after OF - sorry if I've confused anyone.
