Err, Stonehaven. Stonehouse to Furryboottoon would be a very long stage indeed

The Tour of Britain is returning to Edinburgh

I think this only makes sense if Edinburgh has just been added to a hitherto incomplete list of venues.

I see today's route includes the Machynllech-Corris-Cross-Foxes-Dolgellau stretch familiar to many of us here, but then goes north of the Mawddach estuary to Barmouth. Anything to avoid having to pay the toll.

I don’t know for sure, but the event director was a very long term and close friend of someone who lived in Walsall, and who died late last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a nod in the friend’s direction.
