Aha, the "and 24hr" bit explains why the RWGPS route doesn't stop in London.

Shame he’ll pass through Buntingford so that. Else I would have popped out to cheer him on.

There is a tracker here: https://www.wahooligan.com/users/live/fFlcb_VVGkXCRKHziLC2xw

Looks like a slightly slow start but plenty of time to get back on track.  Having said that - the forecast wind is helpful but it isn't exactly a howling north-northwesterly.

Went out to give him a shout in Darlo.

He was a bit down on schedule, but once past Darlo the roads are clearer (there are a lot of traffic lights along the A167).

The choice of route into London is interesting (A10/Wood Green/Essex Road). IME the A1000 (old A1) is flatter and straighter and less busy. It would also be much more convenient to me.

At about the halfway point - just south of Wetherby.

Something like 6 minutes behind his schedule.

I cheered Mike on at Croxdale, a nice climb. If you use the RWGPS elapsed time subtract 9 mins. (Started  at 0551)

I was looking at when RWGPS had him arriving at the Bramham 'L then R' as compared to his planned time of 14:34:30 taken from the RRA schedule.  I assume that he started bang on 0600 and the 0551 is just some pre-start jiggling.

Yes 06:00 start was posted on twitter. I checked the RWGPS track early today and there are 9 mins of zero speed at the start

I only know North London of old, but going down Green Lanes from Turnpike Lane seems like a...... brave.... choice of route.

Chapeau to the man!

When I lived on Green Lanes in the mid-80s it was known as the Green Line, after the one in Beirut.

Looks like a slight routing problem coming out of Long Bennington but corrected fairly quickly.

I lived just off Green Lanes 1957-67 being at school there during the time it was the front line of the 1963/4 Cypriot troubles

There is a known issue with Wahoo Roam’s. They freeze after about 16 hrs.   It has happened to me twice.  And there is a YACF thread about it.  I wish they would hurry up and sort it.   They have known about it for about 3 months.   <15 hrs I love my Roam and Bolt.  So much more user friendly than Garmin

I think he's out of luck. Traffic lights will slow Mike down.  :-\ and he's basically stillgot my old commute to go.
Fair play to you both LWaB for turning out.
I've got no idea how he's going for the 24hr though.
