I'll be there, on my search for that Audax where there's a warm tailwind in each direction and "Smoothy-Smooth Tarmac Road Repairs PLC." have visited the week before.

I'll be there ....hoping to see 'mater and pater' (see family photo posted by Lee)  ;). This is essentially an SR training ride for the F5 ...hoping to bring down our 200K time.

Fingers crossed for an early spring day with no wind!

Well, I know I posted mine - but those norty pixies must have run down to the post-box, fished it out and brought it back because I've just found it on the coffee table, as yet unposted.

It's going off this very afternoon - just as soon as I've distracted those pixies...

Nothing here yet.  Although I'm used to the Pilbeam's Denmead Audaxes where I usually get the route sheet a couple of days before the applicable weekend.

This is my backup should the Brazier's Run organiser not allow me to wrap his 100km ride up in a DIY 200 from home. (Just remembered I still hadn't emailed him to ask permission!)

That requires a 5am departure from home (to give me 4 hours to do the 75km to the start of the 100km ride).

The KVR would mean the 5.49 from Putney to Reading and 20 minutes to do the 4 miles to the start.

Looks like I'm out for this.
MrsH needs to be somewhere at 7:30pm, it'd be touch and go if I could manage this as a ten hour 200 to be back in time. Maybe with the fabled both-directions tailwind :-)

Perhaps I'll try putting together a Midlands Mesh perm for the weekend before.

You should be fine. It's dead flat and straightforward once you are on the right main road headed South - I managed to avoid getting lost and can barely think at that o'clock - you'll probably have your digital friend reassuring you.
(I normally find Reading navigation tortuous, but this was surproisingly easy).

Got the OK for the DIY so I'll be on that instead.

(BTW, the justification for doing this and not the KVR is that I've got to be home for 8pm, which I can't guarantee to do if I'm on the KVR. The 5am start time for my DIY ride does allow this. Given the choice I'd much prefer to ride a full Calendar event than a DIY+calendar, or DIY.)

Thanks Phil, that sounds like a good option. I really need to ride with some people for a change! About 1200km of Audax (or Audax style) riding in the last 6 weeks, only 100K with company  :(

Route sheet turned up today.

Two visits to the Tutti Pole on the same ride.

That'll be four visits in the space of a month.  :-[

Let's hope they have more than three on staff this time  ::-)

I had to forego my Beanz-on-Toast on the Willy Warmer for some faster turn-around grub; so I could get out of there within half an hour.

They are aware of the event (as indeed they have been for six or seven years now.  They normally bring in additional staff.  Though clearly they didn't for the Willy Warmer, and they knew that event was happening too.  Seem to remember WW suffered the same last year.

I'll make sure to raise that point next year, Phil. They certainly knew how many people to expect, though I'm not convinced theres a close correlation between staffing levels and waiting time!

The TP is also the 70km control on the Marlborough Connection. Hungerford is audax central in Jan/Feb...

I believe this role transfers to Rickling Green in March  :)

I've been here before. I'll look on Thursday night.
