What Should Dave Cornthwaite Ride for 1,000 miles?
« on: 25 April, 2014, 01:11:07 am »
Something a little different. Dave Cornthwaite is speaking at the non-motorised transport show called the Spezialradmesse, or Spezi for short in April. He plans to ride back from Spezi to the UK, a 1,000 mile ride and he is giving us a chance to choose his transport.  You can vote on the website, on Facebook or via Instragram. Details at Dave's website.

The transport options are:

ICE Sprint 26X Trike

Varibike FR3

Troytec Revolution Low Rider

Something a little different? 1 or 3 (both are quite pleasing to the eye).

Something looking outright bizarre? gotta be #2

I'm guessing a lot of trail helps keep you stable when you're moving your arms around that much while trying to steer.

Oddly, the boring and sensible option (the Sprint) is winning by a fair margin.

Huge trail. Be interesting to see how it steers compared to a normal mid trail bike or even a low trail bike like the VO Polyvalent.

Might be just what the doctor ordered - they always tell me to do some resistance exercise, but I hate going to the gym

ICE where promoting the vote fairly heavily.

I want number 3. It is lovely. If he rides it back I will buy it off him after.

The ICE Sprint won by a long way - ICE were indeed promoting the voting at SPEZI and on Facebook.

Lovely looking bit of kit :) - bloomin' expensive, I can justify a Fujin SL but that's pushing it a bit, even allowing for the imminent receipt of a rather significant redundancy cheque !

(But yes dear, I *can* fold it, even tho' I have recently bought a van to carry the recumbent...)

Dave is 15 miles from me at the mo but riding to Münster today for an event tonight (I considered going but it's a bit far away). He's talking about maybe meeting up with me in NL but not ure how that will work out.
