The Apprentice, 9pm tonight (10th May)

Yes, another 16 odious social climbers with no sense of self-awareness or morals crash and burn.  I love it.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

I was posting on Cyclechat as it started. I thought I'd finish posting before getting up to turn off (no remote on my telly). But after the first two snippets of self introduction, I threw the laptop aside and jumped up to turn off.

Are they real?  I know there are some twats out there, but where do they find them?

They go through 10,000 applicants to find the 16 biggest twats.

Napoleon complex...

He was a complete twat.  As were Edna and Melody on the girls' team.  I can't see either of them lasting long - except for the entertainment value.  I loved Melody's claim to have been trained by al Gore and the Dalai Lama... ::-)

'I'm the shortest on the team'
'I was personally taught by the Dalai Lama' - is he moonlighting as a motivational speaker?!

I'd rather sit there for an hour, repeatedly hitting myself really hard on the kneecaps with a pointy geologist's hammer than have to watch this innane, feckless drivel.

It is a light entertainment programme, where a bunch of  young people enter in the full knowledge that they are putting themselves up for ridicule. Many of them willingly oblige by creating ridiculous and hateful personas.

Surely?

It's brilliant trash tv. I think at least one of them should have the balls to say, "The sun shines out of my arse Lord Sugar." I think Nick's eyebrow's would then travel halfway round the back of his head.

My current theory is that the people who enjoy this programme the most have never had to work in an environment that nurtures this kind of self-important wankstain. A relative of mine for instance, who's only job since university is work for a quango promoting literature and giving grants to writers and poets - she loves it. It just reminds me of too many two-faced backstabbing lying chancers you see in Sales.

And the worrying thing is that some young kids see these people as role models. They follow Alan Sugar on twitter and before you know it, a generation comes out of 3rd rate ex-polytechnics with "degrees" in "business studies" and they're "risk managers" before they're 25. Heaven help us all.

Probably true. I probably only like it because I'm a media twat.

For truth.

The most I can stand of this sort of person is about thirty consecutive seconds before I find myself motivated to insert them in a cement mould.

The App episode tonight was rather special. The incredible numbness from the losing team was hilarious. Anyone who watches the show will know the one rule that if the PM crows before the result is announced is going to LOSE.

Come on the Lord Jim with his Jedi skills and his sexy accent, mmmm...

The losing PM had a mouth like a reamed chocolate starfish. He was doomed in episode 1.

Jim comes across as a nice chap. He's mine sister!

Actually, I was convinced the girl's should have lost by a country mile. A few of those soppy cows deserve to be culled.

What's with the gloves from Edna at the podium? Durrrr!

Edna and Melody "I've trained with the Dalai Lama"should be the next up against the wall.

Edna for her complete idiocy and lack of fashion sense - Melody for her whiny voice and consistent bragging.

Leon: wet fart
Melody: annoying bighead
Felicity: invisible
Edna: I remember her from Will O'The Wisp
Mia: sulky cow
Ellie: post-op
Helen: oddly appealing but also an airhead
Vincent: auditioning for D'Artagnan in am dram
Tom: defines weird
Glenn: odd ears
