It must be summer..
« on: 07 April, 2017, 07:26:53 pm »
Saw several swallows 5 mins ago.  Been outside all day without seeing any so I'd say they've just made it.

Yep - if you've seen more than just the one swallow, that should be summer!

I've seen a swallow two days running. Trouble is, yesterday's was within about 5 seconds' flying time of Wednesday's, so it could easily have been the same bird.

First robin fledgling of the year on the patio.  About quarter of an hour ago.

And this morning the first cuckoo.  Rather early, I think.  In this part of France it's usually pretty much in sync with the UK, possibly due to the altitude.

The men of Kent already are shirtless, their wobbling guts and assorted flabby upper parts flicking through the shades of broiled pink in the Dulux Guide to Sunburn Colours. It's only April. Put your bloody tops back on.

First swallow here in Fishguard harbour this morning
(well, Goodwick Moor really, where they can pick off the flies).

I knew I'd see one today ... a day of coruscating beauty ...
