Long Itch Camping Weekend: May 5th - 7th 2017
« on: 16 April, 2017, 08:31:09 pm »
It's time to chase up numbers and set out what is happening for the weekend.

Friday 5th:

Early arrivals can enjoy the usual chip van supper as well as the joy of camping and meeting old friends.

Saturday 6th:

08:00:    Long itch diner breakfast peloton.

10:00:    Departure for those wishing to ride on a new route taking in Lots of Warwickshire and perhaps bits of Northamptonshire before lunching at a new venue.   We should be back by 17:00 at the latest ready for...

17:30:    Or when suits Torslanda:   Tors specialty field paella.   Tors will need to know numbers please and there will be a retiring donations pot for you to show your appreciation of Tors efforts by bunging in some lovely £1 coins.

19:30:    If all has gone to plan Kajsa will be here to give a talk on her AYearInTheSaddle adventure, boils and all.   Kajsa has some visuals and will be happy to answer all your questions, however absurd!   She might even tell you about her next venture should you ask...   Her talk lasts about 1 hour and Q&A is as long as you make it.   Please come prepared.

Sunday 7th:   Lazy morning but happy to make a further trip to the Long Itch diner if there are any takers.   Lounge around and pack up at your leisure.

Loadsabikes has also indicated that he may attend by canoe and is prepared to do a bit of a skillshare if anybody is interested.   Subject to Loadsabikes obviously.

I will remember to ensure that the back door is left open for access to the facilities overnight.

Costs are £5 pp/pn for camping, and £5 to attend the Kajsa talk.   I will be collecting monies on Saturday when we get back from the ride.

No charge for camping for littlies.   Littlies also very welcome at Kajsa's session.

Oh, I should also add that numbers are restricted in the back room to 50 so I will be advertising locally to sell more seats for Kajsa's talk soon.   I really don't want to put any pressure on but I will need to know numbers please.

Me (obvs) both nights. Yes to Kajsa's talk.

There's nearly two dozen names up there, I'm going to need a bigger boat cooking pot . . .

Me for both nights. Yes to Kajsa's talk. Is there any fishy stuff in the Paella? Can't eat fish, prawns are okay but actual fish makes I SPECTACULARLY poorly.

Barakta and I are in for both nights.

I'm a yes to Kajsa and a no to paella.  Barakta has retreated to bed with a headache of doom, but I'll prod her to post here when she's feeling human.

I'll have to get around to booking a day off work & cancelling a concert, but should be up for it, with Kajsa & paella.

Yes please, we'd like to bring our caravan for both nights and maybe do a bit of Iris-fettling. We're up for the paella on Sat night and are happy to lend a hand. Also happy to pay extra to park the van! So that's me & Mrs Melbourne12 😀

Do you not think that Apollo would sit through?   He was pretty much engrossed in Charlotte's photography.

Excellent.   it will be lovely to see you again.

I don't think that there will be an extra charge for the van as there was not last time.   We do have exclusive use of the field so it should not be a problem.   We'll have to be careful to ensure a clear path across the field for you.

Will you be wanting to attend Kajsa's talk?

I'm hoping to come for the Saturday, ideally in time for the ride, and heading back after Kasja's talk. Unfortunately my F-i-L's health is such that I may be called away at short notice.

No worries.   I can save a space for you at the talk if you wish.

Yes please from us, for both nights, self-catering. Yes for one of us for Kajsa's talk (littlies being welcome is appreciated but Iris is likely to be tired and grouchy by that time and will not enhance everyone else's evening.)

Thanks for that.

Any more for any more?

By the way folks, please tell your mates and associates about the Kajsa talk.   They can contact me by email (below) if they want tickets.

Hmmm, as suggested by that GIT Torslanda, I could do a skillshare on how I have repaired my Brooks B17 replacing the tension bolt.   Would anybody be interested in a short session on that?
