The bit I don't get is that the system has new rads and where is this coming from?  Left over in the system as Icould not drain it fully?

My heating system water went black light brown in about 2 months, even with new radiators and plastic pipe.

Even though I'm apparently lying about the pipe.

Sounds like an excellent opportunity to install a drain valve.

How?  I added a drain valve, at a radiator, when I replaced the rads.  How can I install one lower?

Ah, the lowest point's under the solid floor?  That's annoying.

Otherwise, valve under the floorboards somewhere, or even sticking out through an external wall.

Lowest point is buried in the concrete, no chance of alteration with out more destruction.

After a bit of googling it seems that the system will need dosing with a corrosion inhibitor. Fernox does a handy one in an aerosol which you can dose from the filling loop on the boiler.

Did you have an inhibitor added?

Looks like left over from the old radiators.

Going to run a cleaner through for a few days, maybe a week.  Then drain the system, fully using the george (henry wet and dry vac) then inhibitor.

No, weirdly, I can't seem to see any for sale here.

I might get a couple of cans of the aerosol when I go to England and bring it back on the plane.

I don't think I can be bothered to flush the system and clean it, as I hosed out the radiators when I hooked up the pipes a few months ago. It's been sucking in air though and I think I've found a dodgy automatic vent, so I'll fix that tomorrow.

Denmark is pretty small, so it would be hard to be particularly far from Copenhagen.

No, I'm in the provinces of Jutland living amongst the carrot growers.

Actually, I was incorrect and the water in my system is light brown, not black. I might fit a magnetic filter to it and look into dosing the system a bit further.

Don't the danes expect that.  Seeing as the scandawegians are big on looking after the environment.

I don't know what The Danes expect tbh.

Anyway I bought a Fernox TF1 Omega filter off flea bay yesterday, which should sit nicely on the return by the pump and I'll get a can of their F1 inhibitor and squirt it in.
