Dear me!  They need to get ASO in to do the TV coverage.

Do you mean TV coverage wise?

Given the number of incidents involving motor this year I was gobsmacked at the number mixing with the riders what looked to be a very tricky course.....and then 3 cars stop vv close to Nibali after his off

I am watching via BBC app on Amazon Tv stick. The BBC red button service is woeful this time round. Budget cut backs probably.
I am bored! There no scope for attacking as the climbs are just so frigging steep.

If you can't find a single positive thing to say about what was a fantastic bike race from start to finish, maybe you should watch the rowing instead.

Dear me!  They need to get ASO in to do the TV coverage.

Indeed - it's difficult to see how they could be so bad with the coverage.

Poor old Boardman had no more clue about what was happening than we did - presumably as the riders didn't have radios and by the look of it no on-bike transponders that feed positioning etc to the broadcaster who can the use the data for on-screen feeds.

At least the TT on Weds should be easier to follow with riders' times and the pecking order as they return to the club house (my money is on there being no split-times for in-ride comparisons) after their rides.

I thought the coverage was mostly fine. At least they didn't lose most of the final 5km like RideLondon last weekend. I don't think we missed anything important apart from the Nibali/Henao crash and that was in a situation where it was almost impossible for the TV motos to stay close to the action.

The pictures themselves were mostly OK but the lack of on-screen time gaps and captions, especially towards the end when things started to get fragmented made it difficult even for TV's C Boardman and S Brotherton to follow who was where.

Absolutely and it ruins some of the enjoyment for me!

They still did a better job than Hugh Porter would do even with on-screen captions and time gaps.

There were just a few times where Radio's S Brotherton showed his lack of experience, eg wondering out loud why Astana's Jakob Fuglsang should be putting in so much effort to ride on the front, apparently for Nibali's benefit.

Liggett on R2 sports round up at 7pm - tuned in religiously (maybe a column in the Telegraph too - Noel Henderson(?) Jock Wadley) then a full report in the comic on Wednesday

Dear the Humax,  thanks for crashing with 40km to go. Good job I switched it on and found it was still going.  Missed the Porte crash and all the excitement at the front...
