The nightmare ride
« on: 02 April, 2008, 02:28:43 pm »
I had a nightmare.
I had put some clothes down when out walking, then had to cycle back to get them later.

The only bike I could ride was an incredibly low-slung recumbent trike. The pedals were yellow plastic on what looked like 2" cranks. The chain was so long, running over so many pulleys, that turning the pedals gradually tightened the chain for a second, then the wheels slowly started turning.

The trike was so low-slung that I couldn't see ahead to navigate. I quickly became lost in a maze of rural lanes, only able to manage about 5mph with my feet whirring madly in very very tiny circles. It fell dark, I got more and more lost.

It was a great relief to wake and find it was all a dream.

Well, that part doesn't sound so bad.  :)

I had a dream the other day that I could do wheelies for as long as I liked, whenever I liked. It was a crap feeling when I woke up and remembered I actually can't :(

I have that one quite often.

I often dream that I'm on the trike going round and round a Multi- Storey car park. It's always very fast and I'm sure I am going somewhere at the end of it all!

OK. I ride a lot. As often as I can. I get grumpy and unhappy if I can't get out on my bike.

I regularly wake up in the middle of dreams (two, three times a night sometimes). But I've never woken up in the middle of a dream with bikes or cycling in it. I can' t even remember having a dream about riding or bikes.

Weird?

The single biggest injustice in the Western world right now is that the DVD of American Flyers is R1-only.

I don't think mine can be (one's a Philips DVD recorder and the other's a Toshiba cheapie).  The cheapest Chinese ones are usually easiest to make region-free.

Mines a Sharp - Quite expensive 8 years ago - to hack it just involved taking off the case and moving one of the jumpers

When I need cheering up I watch it on the PC using VLC Media Player.  8)
