Small pleasures
« on: 10 April, 2008, 08:00:00 pm »
Whizzing down the Innocent tunnel this morning, freewheeling at 18-20 mph, my black jacket flapping behind me, I amused myself no end by singing "der ner ner ner ner ner ner ner der ner ner ner ner ner ner ner Batman!" very loudly.

You?

I thought you were doing the Battle of Britain for a moment there ...

Going up Stamford Hill on Freyja with a lot of weight (Couple of laptops, a scanner, change of clothes and a camera kit strapped to my back) singing "Don't stop me now" :)  made it over without breaking a sweat :)
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

Do you mean Dambusters? I might do that tomorrow. That'll cheer anth up as he goes the other way.

Not cycling related, but I love puddle jumping!

And freewheeling down hills of course!

I have been thinking about this, and I think if I sing the Dambusters March I am likely to find myself weaving from side to side across the path with both arms outstretched as if being a Lancaster bomber, and that could end in disaster.

I have to confess that last time Mrs Eck and I were out on the tandem, the execrable chorus of "Ain't no stoppin' us now" kept running round in my head. Luckily for her, I resisted the temptation to sing it out loud.  :-[
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

That sounds so rude!

All railway bridges or tunnels start me singing 'Day-oh, dayayayay-oh' etc.

Then I have a banana.
Doubt is is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

One very specific to this time of year - coasting along the country lanes riding through clouds of blossom perfume.....  Mmmmmm.

No tunnels round me, but I did have a good whoop going through the noisy tunnel on the Freewheel. I was with a colleague at the time, who knows what she thought...
