There was a lark singing over my works car park y'day morning.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Oodles of snowdrops, and even some crocuses in Northumberland on Sunday (March 1st). Also, some daffodil shoots.

More importantly, the first definite hare* of the year, giving me a Look before bounding off across the field.

*There was a possible hare last week closer to home, but it was too far away for me to be certain.

Frogspawn appeared in our pond on Monday.

Do hares hibernate? I think I've been seeing them all winter?
There are a lot round here though.

I'm sure I've seen hares in the winter in Poland (where there are also a lot of them - but no wild rabbits). Maybe they just wake up on occasional days though, rather than being active all year? I'm not sure.

It's taken a long time since the first reports of snowdrops, but by now there are glorious carpets in our woody areas.

First blackbird singing last Saturday on my way from Rugby station to Crick. There are more by now.

A few lesser Celandines flowering at the wet bottoms of the ridge & furrow at Loxley Church Meadow yesterday. I haven't checked my usual site for earliest celandines (Hampton-in-Arden); I went past on Tuesday, but was driving (car) so didn't have a safe opportunity to look.

I thought they did - anyway, they're more active in spring, and that's when I see 'em most.

Primroses at the bottom of Hatton bank.
.
I hadn't been that way since early February, so don't know how long they've been in flower.

Two cyclists in shorts.

Same here.  I was in full winter kit, and had a conversation with one of them to the effect that neither of us were at a comfortable temperature.

On Saturday, a wheatear on Pen y Fan, my first sighting of a summer visitor this year. On Sunday, plenty of chiff-chaffs chiff-chaffing along the Brecon and Monmouth canal.

And today three hares in the field behind us, resplendent in their summer orange-brown coats after a winter of grey colouring. Not seen any "boxing" yet tho.
