Stoke is on the Trent Wows, not under the Lyme.

ETA
in the '70's I worked for a company whose office was in Newcastle-under-Lyme,with a Stoke-on-Trent STD phone code whilst project managing several sites in Newcastle-upon-Tyne ;D
Some of my sub-contractors & suppliers found it all very confusing ::-)

Been to the gym. First time for 6 months I've run 5k - and under 29 mins. Must be on the mend as I didn't feel ill-crap either (just pleasantly physically tired).

Two years ago, infuriated by my Babbage-Engine's lack of speed, I punched the keyboard.  This had no effect on the speed of the Babbage-Engine but made me feel better.  Until, that is, I found that in my zeal I had b0rked one of its little legses, which caused the thing to fall over under eager typing.

One the way back from BACON this morning I found an intact keyboard leg on the floor, and now it no longer has teh wobs

Dress down Friday, and on leaving work today I was told by the office dolly/fashionista: I really love your jacket, tweed is really in at the moment.

So you see, every twenty years or so I'm up there with the best of them. With any luck I should get at least one more cycle out of this jacket my jackets. Result

My family's old house in Shenzhen, China is being preserved due to its cultural heritage. Essentially when my dad was a kid, it was where our water buffalo lived. But when the village turned into a town, and later a city, there was no more need for water buffalo storage, so it got turned into a 2 room house. Now it's being preserved as everything else is has been replaced by high rises and skyscrapers.  So the authorities are renting it from us to turn it into a tourist attraction. It will be like the slum equivalent of a stately home.

I rode over broken glass today and didn't get a puncture (and it was wet). Thank you Durano Plus tyres.

We have a postcard from that Deano!  From Persepolis, no less, which from the picture on the postcard needs a bit of a tidy up and some Pledge.

I've come over all Ozymandias.

I've ordered N+1! A winter bike that will take my Schwalbe winter tyres: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CBOOPOMPETVERSA11/on_one_pompetamine_versa_11_speed_pro
All thanks to a life insurance policy that I forgot I even had maturing after 15 years! It's a shame I don't have any more like that.

You bought a new bike to fit some tyres that you had? Looks at part worn tyres hanging on garage wall and thinks...

The builders have got to the plastering. They've taken out the old (dead) rayburn, replaced the wall and stripped all the flooring.
I'm getting new storage and flooring. Yay!
(& it'll take another week so I have to continue to stay at my friend's house. Shame ;D)

Hurrah - fboab has good news.  And that in itself is good news.

For me, I survived Wednesday, and Thursday has brought sunshine.  That'll do :)
