I have an offer for a proper permanent job.

(Not at the brewery)

Great news, I hope it's a job you wanted. It's about time you had some good luck for a change

Four pieces of cake, a glass of Ribena and a cup of tea, all for a grand total of £2.20!  :D

Towards the end of an increasingly frustrating day, on the last street, my colleague gave a hoot of surprise.

He'd just found a bumper catering box of packets of instant noodles, left out with the recycling. The box was open, with 39 intact packets of noodles inside.

That's lunch for the recycling team for two weeks, if we all had noodles everyday. (and I do!)

Free noodles!  Oodles of 'em!

Is it the end of term already?

No, but a lot of the studenty houses seemed to have had clear outs. Possibly forced tidying up in prep for potential new letters viewing?

It's an interesting juxtaposition, Claremont Terrace, compared with the posher Portland Street about a hundred yards further up Gillygate - ordinary terraces as opposed to three storey terraces. Defintely mostly students in Claremont, and much scuzzier and untidy boxes.  Also, an average of 300 pizzas consumed per household per week.

There are also two b and b's at the top end, and on the basis of box cleanliness and tidyness, I know which I'd recommend.

I went to the post office and Tesco Metro this morning without my stick - a round trip of just under a mile. I haven't been using the stick inside much at all for a few weeks now but this is the first time I've done any distance outside without it. I was slow like a limping sloth and I'm achey now but I managed. So I got myself some tulips as a reward.  :D

Unfortunately, riding it is kind of difficult given that the rear wheel is currently in bits in the LBS's workshop awaiting a rebuild with an Alfine-8 (sadly, the pics were taken with my phone - they really don't do even a partially-built Pugsley justice)

Back on my bike after a month's enforced idleness

7.5 snowy miles this morning via the Common, harder than I imagined even accounting for the snow. Only crashed once!

Well it was low speed and a soft landing. Whilst more frequent my off road crashes are less dramatic than those on road.
