Looks like we get two stages passing through Cumbria (though they are missing most of the major fells). The finish at the top of Hartside should be good :)

Yay!  :D  Just been offered a job after exactly two weeks on the bench. And a 10% increase over previous rate.

Off out for a bike ride... it's harder work looking for a job than doing one!

Son has been offered a funded Ph.D place at Edinburgh.  :thumbsup:
Not quite sure what the main event is , it's geophysics related,  but it does involve some time in Svarlbard.
 I have asked if I can go along as luggage porter, so long as it's in  summer .

I really fancied breakfast in bed, but the bowl of red fruit I was planning to have would've made terrible stains on the best duvet cover. But I found two scabby crusts of bread in the freezer which means toast is possible! Hurrah!

Good start to the weekend  8)

Excellent news madcow!  I sometimes look at photos from a couple of geologist friends playing out in the ant/arctic and get rather envious.  That definitely sounds like a good move on madcalf's part.

Turned over a pedal for the first time in over a week today.  Very tired after my illness.  12 miles at 11.5 mph.  :(
Oh well, that looks good enough to ride to work on Monday.  That will be an improvement on the train which I did on Thursday and Friday.  Good god.  How do people do that every day?

My landlord finally sorted out the garage door into my back yard.  So I took my bike out the back way, down the alley to my meeting, then came back the back way, locked my bike in the locker, and went in the back door of my house.  Which was always what I'd intended, it only took nine months to sort out.

It's a shame the back door's broken mind  ::-)
