Oh brilliant!  I'm so pleased for you.

Well, not about Hatfield, of course, but about the job.

Well done! Actually, you are within a gnat's crotchet of some pretty decent cycling country round there.

I know! when I worked in Stevenage I had a brilliant time cycling every evening round the roads of Herts....

It's a shame this time I will be staying in S. Bucks, so maybe the commute by bike might be a bit much (33 miles each way!)

Good news for my blood pressure.

Went for a couple of short rides, featuring hills, shops and two kinds of bike.

Knee feels weak and wobbly, like I haven't done any cycling for a couple of weeks, but was pain-free.

Elbow isn't entirely happy about this whole upright bike business, but didn't really protest until after about an hour of riding.  The 'bent is of course fine.

I'm ignoring my lungs.

I think this means I'm good for the FNRttC (which I don't expect to be particularly strenuous, given the large group and general lack of hills), and random tandem (assuming I ride one-handed where possible) this weekend.

I worked out that I can work the touch screen on my android phone with my elbow, which means I don't have to take my gloves off.   That'll do until I have to switch to long sleeves.  Guess after that, I'll have to use my nose.

Went and saw old friend at UEA as I am seconded there for 6 months. She didn't recognise me as I had lost so much weight.

My new job has been put back a week, due to the IT monkees not being able to produce an AD account in anything less than 5 days!

So why is this in good news? Well it means I am a definate for the FNRtSR, something which was in doubt if I had started next monday.....

Just worked out how to get on (well technically off) the road on my n+1 without having to wait for Shimano to deliver the Alfine 11 speed hubs.

It did mean donating a wheel from another bike and I'll be off road on a singlespeed :o
