Ive withdrawn as Ive already got my 1000km event organised for early June 2022.

Im realistically not going to ride two events that distance in addition to organising one.

Do the original riders who signed up keep their place or is the ride open to anybody who wants to apply, now the ride has been put back?I didn't have as an original application for this ride but I'm very interested in taking part in this challenge.

I haven't had many drop out - they mostly seem keen to ride.

I'm not running a waiting list, sorry, but I'll let everyone know if any places do open up, though that seems unlikely.

Are you expecting to run your other events in the calendar, Deano?

Yep, though depending on AUK letting them go ahead, of course.

My 400 (the offroady one) and 600 (the hilly one) are going to go ahead on the 17th July. Pretty much x-rated, sadly, but there's plenty of space left on both.

I'm wondering about riding the HF as a perm, or maybe 5x200's or even 'just' a tour.

Just updated the riders on the list about the event in 2022 - let me know if you think you should have had an email but haven't.

Currently I'm congratulating myself on my foresight in not adding dates to the posters I bodged together. Here's the other version, but everyone else preferred the one I put on the OP.

Anyone else a bit flummoxed about how to prepare for a long ride this early in the year? There aren't even any 400s in the Cal, let alone a 600 to practice on!
(Currently my AUK season looks like:
Winter,
300 in March,
Highland 1000,
Eating.)

Find some friends and do an Arrow, Matt, you'll be reet.

Not sure how I'll prepare myself for my helper's ride, probably a hilly 300 or two.

I've no idea. I'm just hoping that the callouses on my butt from previous seasons will see me through. I'm sure that half the ride is downhill too, so it's only really 500km. Reluctantly heading out for a 200 tomorrow and hoping against hope that I enjoy it.

On the bright side, no need to do LEL22.

I'm doing a couple of 200s/300s between then and now, an arrow, and then hope for the best !

Part of it is certainly Downhill

I fully intend on riding in April and for information purposes I'm organizing a couple of hilly events in early April (200 + 300) that might be of interest. More details here:

https://burnleyccevents.com

There's already an unusually high entry for the 300 this year.

Ha, cheers Ian, but I want to give the whole thing a go myself :)

Ha, good on you, Andy, I suppose I should take this opportunity to plug my hilly 200 at the beginning of April: https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=114643.0

Just emailed an update round, let me know if you haven't got it and think you should (there are probably a couple of defunct email addresses in my list).

That's probably your fault (the line, not the route, it is the shortest route).

A family wedding has put paid to my participation in this.  Ive let Dean know.

Following domestic negotiations I do however have a cunning plan for a later-in-the-season DIY 1000km..

Hope y’all have a nice time.

Looks as though I have space for a few more riders - I'll open it up again on Monday until it's full.
