You know happens when you mix sea water and tectonic plates? Age of Ice, that's what. This one was a bit special. I'm not sure if it benefited or was made worse by the fact they edited it with a Magimix.

I once found Age of Ice on DVD at my work's book swap shelf and gave it a whirl.  There are some fims that are so bad they become a cult thing, and there are some films that are so bad you want to chop up the DVD into tiny pieces, put them into a lead-lined box and throw it into the sea.  I can't think of a single redeeming feature of the film, quite honestly, except the fact that it ended.  :)

Richard Jewell a Clint Eastwood directed film about the security guard who discovered the Centenial Park bomb in Atlanta in the run up to the Olympics and his subsequent ordeal as the prime suspect.

Well worth a watch. Gives an idea of how conniving and underhand some investigations can become if the portrayal is accurate.

One of the streaming services here (Crave) got all the Bond movies, so just watched Goldfinger.  So much better than most of the newer ones.

Netflix France has got all or most of the Jean-Paul Belmondo films. Most of them are his look-I'm-a-stuntman efforts and not worth watching, but a couple of nights ago we watched Stavisky, which is based on the story of a real 1930s con-man, and well worth the two hours.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

A United Kingdom   The story of King Seretse Khama of Botswana and how his loving but controversial marriage to a British white woman, Ruth Williams, put his kingdom into political and diplomatic turmoil.  Another great chapter of Great British History.
Excellent. Apart from Nicolas lyndhurst who I thought was pretty crap

Recently re-watched the first trilogy. While it obviously has serious issues, the underlying story is easily the strongest of the 3, benefitting from actually having been written as a trilogy and I couldn't help thinking that if any Star Wars movies needed to be re-made, the first 3 are prime candidates :D

On a similar note, I also just re-watched Rise of Skywalker and I still think it's good. (For a Star Wars movie)

I needed a 90' film for a turbo session so looked on the dvd shelves and found The Ghost and Mrs Muir. Mrs PC told me it was a lovely film and it was!

I was expecting it to be set in a Scottish castle which it wasn't, and now have a new favourite phrase, "perfumed parlour snake"!  ;D

The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Which we thought we had watched, but we hadn't.

Very laughy and will have to watch it again to pick up more subtle nuances.
It is simpler than it looks.

That is such a brilliant film that.

Last film I watched was Flight of the Navigator. It is utterly brilliant nostalgia with brilliant sound design.

With a rather fresh-faced Sarah Jessica Parker

One flew over the Cuckoo's nest.

No less distressing to watch 45 years later; the acting no less outstanding.

I was waaaay too young to watch it when it was released (I was 15, it was an 18), so I came to it somewhat belatedly.

Oh my - they all look so YOUNG now!
