My (ex) dog only used to howl when the ice-cream van came around.
It was, however, a real wolf calling the pack kind of howl.
Since he was a Westie, it was quite impressive.

I used to know someone who's dog did the proper wolf type howling whenever she played her clarinet. I think that she was the only person who didn't find this criticism amusing.
