Tiny football gear

This being a cycling forum, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows where to get sports kit for a skinny, small-footed three year old who's desperate to start football.

I have located tiny football boots (with studs! apparently must-have - who am I to question). We could quite easily let him play in cotton trackie bottoms but I know the misery of freezing wet cotton on skin, and I'm prepared to buy some 100% man-made fabric shorts or longs.

I am failing to negotiate my way around online sports shops (their stuff is all for adults! tsk!) and my google-fu seems to be passing this one by. It doesn't have to be posh stuff (went to local Primark but their kids' sports kit started at 7 years old, unfortunately, as it looked perfect), and if we can avoid the dreaded replica kit I will be forever happy (and richer).

Help - any suggestions? Otherwise I will need to start trawling mumsnet, which is always a daunting task.

What sort of football is he going to do though?  tbh he proably doesn't need any kit at all.  I don't think a local (small time) footy club would take him below the age of 5 and competitive stuff is out until I think U8 teams.  The club younger guy used to belong to had a non-competetive team (subs every few mins and reindly games only) for 5-7 yo "U7" and then competitive after that.  The club itself provided the kit.  I think the rules changed for U7 the season after anyway.

This is really the point, I think - it's certainly not serious at this point: think hordes of tinies chasing balls around Wandsworth Common every Saturday morning. More that I just want a) shoes he won't slip over in in the mud - and we're now sorted on that point (he didn't even have trainers he could have used), and b) some clothes he can feel comfortable in while he's running around, and that he can happily wreck.

Ebay is proving the right spot. I seem to have managed to steer Mr Mac away from an overexcited purchase of team/England kit.  :thumbsup:
